or a curse. When you roll up 48 points the week prior http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-adam-shaheen-jersey , it’s hard to say which it will be. Is it better to keep the momentum going or does the bye week allow the team to get rest and not get too full of themselves after a big win? I am not really sure, but my gut tells me it was a good thing for a young team that might need to be reigned in at times as they learn how to win. The Bears head down to Miami this Sunday to play a tough Dolphins team. Well, their defense is tough anyway. That offense should allow the Bears to keep their #1 ranking in defensive DVOA. So what will the Bears need to do catch a fish (yes, I am aware that dolphins are mammals) a little bigger than a salmon? Keys to the GameClean Pockets: The Dolphins really need to pressure the quarterback for their defense to be successful. They have gotten plenty of pressure on quarterbacks this year, which has led to interceptions. The Bears are going to have to give Mitch Trubisky clean pockets to work from as much as possible. If Trubisky stays clean, the offense shouldn’t have any trouble putting up points on Sunday. Hit Parade: ***I am by no means advocating violence or playing dirty*** Ryan Tannehill has a bum throwing shoulder and Brock Osweiler is the backup quarterback. With Miami’s inability to run the ball and their suspect offensive line, they need to put Tannehill on his back as much as possible. I don’t want to see any players get hurt but there are only so many hits an injured joint can take before a player taps out. So while sacks are fun, in this case, getting quarterback hits might lead to more turnovers and poor plays from Tannehill, who is capable of making in bunches. The X-Factor: Special teams are going to play a role in this game I think. At a time when special teams are perhaps the least important that they have been in decades Womens Mitchell Trubisky Jersey , both the Bears and the Dolphins are pretty darn good in the 3rd phase. The Bears need to at least match the Dolphins special teams. That means not giving up any big plays and perhaps getting a few nice punt returns from Tarik Cohen. Could this be a Cody Parkey revenge game? Let’s shoot for touchdowns instead m’kay? What are your keys to the game? The Bears are staring at a 4-1 start to the season with 2 of the next 3 opponents ranking neat the bottom of the NFL, if they can past the Dolphins and their defense. AKRON, Ohio (AP)Billy Graham saved souls there. Karl Wallenda once walked on a tightrope above the gridiron. The Rolling Stones performed there in 1972, getting fans so worked up that a couple dozen got arrested. And there was football. Lots of football. In the end, the Akron Rubber Bowl’s splendid past couldn’t save it from the wrecking ball. Allowed in recent decades to crumble into a public health hazard, the landmark 78-year-old stadium will start to come down next week.Like the booming local tire industry that inspired its name, the Rubber Bowl once stood as a shining source of civic pride in the modestly sized Rust Belt city that lived in the shadow of larger Cleveland – with its pro teams and 80,000-seat stadium – to the north. To Akron, the Rubber Bowl was a huge deal.”This dream that Akronites have cherished has come true,” the Beacon Journal newspaper effused when the venue opened in 1940 Pat O'Donnell Jersey , the product of a public works project during the Depression. The 35,000-seat horseshoe saw decades of high school football on fall Fridays, college football on Saturdays, occasional NFL games, rodeos, dirt-track auto racing, circuses, prizefights, Easter sunrise services and music.Bob Hope addressed 22,000 there in a September 1944 memorial for the area’s 600 men killed in World War II.”You may have heard http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-long-jersey , folks, that I spent the summer with our men all over the Pacific,” the entertainer told the somber crowd. ”And I want to tell you that this bowl is a picture of the kind of America those kids dream about.”The Cleveland Browns played some preseason exhibition games. The old venue changed hands to private owners whose plans to revive it for one use or another never materialized. The city of Akron, which took ownership again after a bank foreclosure, said this week it will begin ”emergency demolition” because the condemned edifice is a risk to the adjacent Derby Downs, home of the famous International Soap Box Derby. There are no immediate plans for the site.”It really served the community well over the years,” said 83-year-old Ken MacDonald Sam Acho Jersey , an Akron native who was sports information director at the university from 1965 to 1989.”I am so glad they’re tearing it down, though,” he added. ”It outlived its usefulness. It’s just ugly. It’s been dead for a long while.”In fact, the Rubber Bowl had been crumbling since before the university football team played its last game there in 2008. Some of the seating sections were closed because they were deemed unsafe. Dennison said the university had to pump sand and concrete into the ground every offseason for years so a spring wouldn’t bubble up under the closed end.As a demotion crew did prep work this week, cars pulled up so people could took a last look and get some pictures. In this re-draft, the Cleveland Browns decided to jump on the All-Pro safety with the 4th-overall pick instead of cornerback Denzel Ward, who also went on to have one of the best individual seasons among 2018 rookies. Here’s what they had to say about the pick:As the re-draft went on, guys like Darius Leonard (the Rookie Defensive Player of the Year) and Leighton Vander Esch went a number of picks higher, being the first two linebackers off the board. Due to this change Womens Jatavis Brown Jersey , consensus top linebacker prospect heading in to the draft, Roquan Smith, fell easily to the Chargers at pick #17.Here’s what they had to say about this turn-of-events:Hindsight is 20/20 but Smith landing in LA would’ve been just as amazing were it to have actually happened this time last year. In his first season in Chicago, Smith led the team in total tackles with 121. He also added in five sacks and an interception, to boot. Take your pick of James or Smith, but I believe either one is going to end up being a future all-pro for years to come. What do you guys think of the re-draft? Would you still be excited about this pick? One of the most compelling (and for the teams most maddening) realities of the NFL is that most games are close games, with the potential outcomes going either way. Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers recently illustrated that point in relation to his team’s 2018 season.“We could have won them all Rayshawn Jenkins Jersey ,” Rivers told Nick Hardwick and Jon Schaeffer of XTRA 1360 in San Diego. “Like we could have gone undefeated. We could have. And we also could have gone 6-10.”The Chargers went 12-4, and three of the losses came by 10 or more points. But they could have indeed won each of those three games — vs. Chiefs, at Rams, and vs. Ravens. The challenge for the Chargers in 2019 will be to forget about 12-4 and, more importantly, to forget about the way the season fell apart in the divisional round and to focus on winning one game at a time. All too often, teams that managed to string together a bunch of wins one year can’t duplicate it the next year http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-justin-jones-jersey , because they allow themselves to think based on a great record that it came easier than it did.It never comes easy. Which makes what the Patriots continue to do even more impressive. They’ve found a way to expunge the outcome of the prior season from their brains, and to focus obsessively on what’s next. If the Chargers can do that in 2019, they may get another crack at the Pats in January.

. Questionable play-calling.It’s all contributed to an ineffective http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-sidney-jones-jersey , inconsistent offense that has plagued the Philadelphia Eagles through 10 games. The Eagles (5-5) couldn’t do much against the New England Patriots in a 17-10 loss Sunday. After jumping out to a 10-0 lead, they managed 152 total yards on the final 10 drives.Carson Wentz was sacked five times, lost a fumble and completed only half his passes. In Philly, that results in heavy criticism."It's not about one guy Womens Rasul Douglas Jersey ," coach Doug Pederson said Monday. "It takes 11 on offense. So we have to do better up front in protection, obviously, the backs have to do a better job there as well and then our skill guys have to get open. So there is a combination of a lot of things that we can all take away from this game."One of Wentz's 20 incompletions was a fourth-down pass from the Patriots 26 that bounced off Nelson Agholor's hands in the final minutes. It would've been an acrobatic catch if Agholor hauled it in but not an impossible grab for a better receiver. The Eagles were missing their two best receivers — DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery — and leading rusher Jordan Howard. Then All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson left with a concussion after the touchdown drive. The run game was nonexistent without Johnson paving the way, and all five sacks came after he exited.WHAT NEEDS HELPWentz has no reliable target other than tight end Zach Ertz. He also has no deep threat with Jackson out for the season. Agholor has too many costly drops. Jeffery is normally sure-handed but he has slowed down this season. JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Mack Hollins have difficulty getting open. Jordan Matthews just returned for his third stint with the team.STOCK UPCornerback Jalen Mills has played well in four games since returning from a foot injury that kept him out nearly a full calendar year. Mills has stabilized a secondary that has improved greatly since he returned along with Ronald Darby and Avonte Maddox.STOCK DOWNThe entire offensive line suffered after Johnson left the game. It gave up five sacks Mack Hollins Jersey , allowed 12 hits on Wentz and couldn't open up run lanes. Nine-time Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters returned from a knee injury that forced him to miss three games and committed penalties on consecutive drives that led to punts.INJUREDJohnson is in concussion protocol, so his status this week is uncertain. Howard and Jeffery are making progress, but it's too early to know when they'll return.KEY NUMBER120 — The Eagles are 21-2 under Pederson when they run for at least 120 yards in a game. Sticking with the run is even more important for this offense because the receivers are below average and the passing game is out of sync.NEXT STEPSThe Eagles host Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks (8-2) on Sunday. Wilson is 3-0 with 6 TD passes, no interceptions and a 104.9 passer rating against Philadelphia. #LongLiveDaveGettleman"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Eagles StoriesScheduleRosterStatsYahoo Eagles NewsYahoo Eagles Team PageYahoo Eagles ReportYahoo Eagles Depth ChartYahoo Eagles TransactionsYahoo Eagles PhotosOdds About Masthead Community Guidelines StubHub 鉁旴reaking NewsThe Eagles' 2019 draft class is finalized 脳There’s buzz the Giants could draft Daniel Jones with the No. 6 overall pickNew http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-brian-westbrook-jersey ,42comments#LongLiveDaveGettlemanEDTShareTweetShareShareThere’s buzz the Giants could draft Daniel Jones with the No. 6 overall pick“I can’t believe it either.”Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY SportsHere’s a rumor for you to chew on as we’re now only six days away from the 2019 NFL Draft. According to Charles Robinson, there is at least one team with Duke’s Daniel Jones as their No. 1 quarterback on their board. Which team? Robinson had this to say:Oh baby. He’s talking about the New York Giants! Indeed, Jones has often been connected to the Giants leading up this year’s draft. He’s an incredibly popular pick for New York at No. 17 overall. But if Jones is truly the Giants’ preferred heir to Eli Manning, wouldn’t they consider taking him at No. 6?It sure seems that way. Earlier this week Womens Destiny Vaeao Jersey , former NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah put out a mock draft with the G-Men taking Jones with New York’s first of two first-round picks. Further, NFL insider Ian Rapoport recently had this to say about the Giants taking a quarterback at No. 6.Eagles fans should be rooting hard for Jones to eventually replace Manning in New York. But don’t just take it from me. At least one Giants writer from Big Blue View has already deemed drafting Jones as a “risk at best and a potential disaster.”This is beautiful.NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein calls Jones “more of a Day 2 draft pick than Day 1.” The Draft Network has Jones ranked as their fourth best quarterback and No. 97 overall prospect. But wait! It gets even better. It seems like part of the reason the Giants would be drafting Jones is so they don’t hurt Eli’s feelings too much.Gettleman has been a pretty bad general manager for the Giants to this point. He can further cement his “legacy” by installing Jones as New York’s franchise quarterback. He’s truly the gift that keeps on giving. The Eagles are 18-4 in their last 22 games against the Giants. For the first time in franchise history, Philly actually has a chance to lead the all-time series between these two NFC East rivals if the Eagles can beat the Giants in Week 14 (and then again in Week 17) this season. Drafting Jones could potentially ensure even more Eagles dominance over the Giants over a long period of time. You just hate to see it!

against the Jaguars after the independent medical spotter signaled to the referee to have him checked for a concussion. The decision came after Jaguars pass rusher Datone Jones came in unblocked from the blind side and planted Kessler into the ground. Kessler got up and did not appear to be hurt http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-keelan-cole-jersey , brought the Eagles back to the line and called the signals, but just as the ball was being snapped for the next play, the referee blew it dead and announced, “The game is being stopped for a medical timeout.”Under NFL rules Womens Marcell Dareus Jersey , every game has a certified athletic trainer who watches players for possible injuries, especially after hits to the head. That spotter has the authority to have a player removed from the game for an evaluation. The hit from Jones was the second hard hit Kessler took on the opening drive of the game, having previously been tackled at the end of a 14-yard run. With starting quarterback Carson Wentz not playing tonight and backup Nate Sudfeld injured, the Eagles are down to Clayton Thorson Josh Lambo Jersey , a fifth-round rookie, as the only available quarterback if Kessler can’t return. The only real question is how much they’ll upgrade.ESPN has projected win totals and playoff chances for all 32 teams with their Football Power Index. Here’s how the Football Power Index works:And here’s what they had to say about the Jaguars:And here’s the rest of the AFC South:Indianapolis Colts: 9.2 wins and 57.9 percent chance to make playoffs.Houston Texans: 8.5 wins and 44.2 percent chance to make playoffs.Tennessee Titans: 8.0 wins and 35.1 percent chance to make playoffs.I mean... yup. Until the Jaguars offense is good, it’s bad. The defense will carry it — and the addition of Josh Allen will make it oh so fun to watch — but I just don’t see how the team will consistently beat even average teams. To get a spot in the playoffs, the team will have to show they can do better in division games. They went 1-5 in the division last season. They’re 9-15 over the last four seasons. They have to turn a corner to compete. What do you think? Is 7-8 wins this season pessimistic? http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jonathan-bullard-jersey , count them 6 TEAMS are on bye this week. Chances are you’ve got at least one player on bye this week, most likely more with Denver, Houston, Jacksonville, New England, Philadelphia and Washington all getting the week off. That’s a ton of fantasy production just sunning it’s self on a beach somewhere. No Courtland Sutton. No Deshaun Watson. No Leonard Fournette. No Pats D. No Jordan Howard. No… um… Washington players.Hopefully you were able to pick up some solid bye week fill-ins, or better yet, you planned in advance and already had guys on your roster. If not, then try not to panic. We’ll go over a few waiver wire targets that may still be out there.QB - Daniel Jones, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Sam DarnoldDaniel Jones has been hit or miss, but has flashed play making ability here in his rookie season. For that reason, I think you can count on him as a bye week fill in vs a Jets team that just allowed Ryan Fitzpatick put up a top 5 week at the position. Speaking of Fitz, there’s nothing sexy about him (other than his beard), but he can be an adequate bye week fill in if you’re in a pinch. Indy isn’t exactly a GREAT match up, but it’s not a terrible one either. He’ll get you some points if your QB is on a bye. And that brings us to one Samuel R. Darnold. I suggested picking him up a couple weeks ago due to his excellent back half schedule. Well, that didn’t start off great. I will say this though, he was a questionable overtuned TD pass away from a pretty solid fantasy week vs Miami. Because of that, and just the absolute cake walk schedule he has over the next 4 weeks, I still think he’s usable. Fire him up if you have no other options as a boom or bust guy in what SHOULD be an easy match up with possibly the worst pass D in the league in the Giants.RB - J.D. McKissic, Jaylen Samuels, Ty JohnsonLet’s not kid ourselves, there isn’t much out there right now at RB. That said, McKissic is kind of interesting. He’s the only Lions RB post Kerryon to really show anything, and even had a role carved out before Johnson went down. If I were going to bet on one guy in that backfield moving forward, it’d be him. And he gets a Bears D that’s struggling against the run without Akiem Hicks, and has generally been soft against the short passing game. McKissic could have a solid outing in Week 9, and should be usable in a week where so many teams are on bye. Jaylen Samuels is about the only healthy back on the Steelers roster with James Conner, Trey Edmunds, and Benny Snell all on the injury report. The Rams are a middle of the road run D, and Samuels should see plenty of work both on the ground in in the pass game. If he’s on your wire, scoop him up if you need a fill-in. Ty Johnson is more of a desperation add. If you have no other option, you can throw him in and hope the Bears issues in run defense are bad enough that he can get you some production. He’ll have his chances Womens Akiem Hicks Jersey , but I wouldn’t expect him to get more than 10 carries, so use at your own risk.WR – Ted Ginn Jr., Auden Tate, Russell GageWith Drew Brees back Ted Ginn should resume his usual boom or bust ways, and with the Saints facing off against the terrible Atlanta pass D, odds are leaning toward boom for this week. If you’re short at WR, he’s not a bad option. Auden Tate has been relatively solid this year. Nothing spectacular, but a consistent WR4 since taking over a starting role in Cincy. It’s hard to say what his production will look like with Ryan Finley at QB, but a 6’5” 230lb WR might be just the type of security blanket a young QB looks for. If you’re in a pinch, you could do worse than Tate. Russell Gage is interesting. He stepped into Mohamed Sanu’s slot role after he was traded to the Pats, and soaked up 9 targets against Seattle. With Matt Ryan likely returning, and with the Falcons perpetually in catch up mode, Gage could continue to see a high target rate. If you’re in bye week hell, Gage could help you out.TE – Jacob Hollister, Jonnu Smith, Jason WittenJacob Hollister was another guy I suggested everyone pick up back in week 8. Yes, he disappointed that week, but he blew up in Week 9 snagging 2 Tds from Russell Wilson. That’s the thing. He’s fairly involved in a high powered offense. Will he drop 17 fantasy points for you every week? No. But a boom or bust TE in a Russel Wilson led offense is a good guy to gamble on, especially in this TE climate. Jonnu Smith looks to be getting another start with Delanie Walker still out. Yeah, he struggled last week vs Carolina, but that’s just how it goes at TE. He’s worth taking a shot on in what looks to be a high scoring game vs KC who seem to be getting Mahomes back. If you need a TE, you could do worse this week than Jonnu. Jason Witten is far from exciting. But he is steady. He has exactly one double digit fantasy performance this season (depending on your league settings), and yet, he’s the TE 12. He’s never going to get you 15 points in a week, but he will get you 6-9 points EVERY week. If you just need something, he’ll give you exactly that. Something.Hopefully that helps out anyone who’s in a tough spot heading into this mother of all bye weeks (fix it NFL!). Now, let’s take a look at the WCG League of Champions, shall we?After clawing my way into 1st place last week, I suffered an embarrassing loss and surrendered the top spot to my WCG cohort Jeff Berckes (who should be back for next week’s fantasy article!). Sam Householder is currently in 8th place, and surely biding his time for an inevitable playoff run. It’s a super competitive league, just as you’d expect from a league made up of the Division Champions and top scorers from last years WCG Fantasy Tournament. That brings us to the WCG Daily League, where 55 WCG members compete in a daily league where you set a completely new lineup each and every week. The player who scores the most points at the end of the season, wins. Here’s a look at the current top 10:BoomShakUrlacher (who I THINK is Sam) is in the lead Bobby Massie Jersey , where he’s been nearly the entire season. Jeff is holding down 5th, and I am currently in 8th after a few “questionable” decisions the past couple weeks (I’ll never forgive you Sam Darnold!). That ends this week (or at least it better, if Kyler Murray knows what’s good for him!).Anyway, share your thoughts in the comments, ask any start/sit questions you may have, or just shoot the fantasy breeze. This is your Week 10 Fantasy Football Forum. Bear down y’all.Jeff Berckes is the Fantasy Football writer for Windy City Gridiron, co-hosts the podcast Bears Over Beers, and can be found on twitter @gridironborn. WhiskeyRanger is a freelance graphic artist and Windy City Gridiron Contributor at not-so-large. You can find him on twitter @WhiskeyRanger29. One-quarter of the way through the schedule, minus the Panthers and Redskins who had byes in Week 4, there's one obvious trend in the NFL: Nobody knows anything.Still, we'll try to decipher what happened in a September that saw some early season swoons and some sizzling starts.THE GOODThe NFL wants offense, offense and more offense. If a game winds up 60-55, the folks on Park Avenue will have no problem with it.So the points explosion the Rams and Chiefs put forth in the first four games deserve praise for their entertainment value, and perhaps for pleasing the upper echelon bosses of the league. Both teams have young, strong-armed gamblers at quarterback, dynamic running backs, and schemes that befuddle defenses.Kudos, too, go to some of the unexpectedly impressive teams through the opening month. We talk of:鈥擟incinnati . Although the defense hasn't quite come around, the Bengals (3-1) have displayed enough with the ball, averaging 31.5 points despite playing three road games. There's a resilience this club rarely has displayed in recent seasons, best exhibited by the way the Bengals rallied to win at Atlanta on Sunday."We didn't flinch," quarterback Andy Dalton said. "We just kept going. That's what you need to be a really good team and to be a good offense."鈥擝altimore . And most notably, Joe Flacco, who with a new and much stronger receiving group, has looked like the guy who helped the Ravens (3-1) win the 2012 championship. Almost always possessing a reliable defense, Baltimore has yielded 65 points; only Jacksonville among clubs that have played four times has yielded fewer.鈥擳ennessee . Talk about resilience, the Titans (3-1) have won three straight, each by three points. The gumption they showed in overtime versus defending Super Bowl champ Philadelphia 鈥?converting three fourth-down plays in overtime, one via penalty 鈥?is a great sign in Music City.鈥擟hicago . Monsters of the Midway indeed. It's been a while since a trade just before the season kicked off has had the kind of impact of the Bears (3-1) getting Khalil Mack from Oakland. This is a defense that should keep Chicago in every game 鈥?don't go overboard, Bears fans, by Mitchell Trubisky's six touchdown passes against a befuddled and, at times disinterested group of Buccaneers 鈥?and that bodes well for winter time for a recently downtrodden team.鈥擟leveland. Hey http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jordan-howard-jersey , the Browns (1-2-1) have a win already. And a tie.鈥擳V ratings. They are up and, as we get closer to cold and nasty weather, the numbers figure to continue climbing.THE BADLet's start with the new head coaches, who have a combined mark of 10-18, including Arizona, the only winless team at 0-4. Steve Wilks has a defensive background, but the Cardinals have allowed 94 points while scoring a measly 37. Already, 13 teams have scored at least 37 points in a game. You must score consistently to win in the current NFL.Chicago's Matt Nagy and Tennessee's Mike Vrabel (see above) each are 3-1. Indianapolis' Frank Reich, Oakland's Jon Gruden, Detroit's Matt Patricia and the Giants' Pat Shurmur all are 1-3.Also not worth bragging about:鈥?0-minute OTs. The 2017 rule change had no effect as there were no ties. Already we've had two this season, nearly had three more on Sunday, and a perhaps unintended consequence of the shortening of overtime from 15 minutes, generally for player safety, could be coming. The OT structure allows the team that kicks off to begin the extra session to get the ball if the opponent opens with a field goal. What if that opponent uses up all 10 minutes and kicks a three-pointer to win it as overtime expires?鈥擳he malaise plaguing supposed Super Bowl contenders in Minnesota, Pittsburgh and Atlanta, all playing far below expectations and revealing some alarming weak spots.SHIELD YOUR EYESLe'Veon Bell's holdout and what it has done to the Steelers, on the field and in the locker room, has gotten ugly.Injuries to such key players as Earl Thomas, Tyler Eifert, Jimmy Garoppolo and three Falcons defensive starters not only were tough to watch, but could have long-range impacts on their careers and their teams' chances. Finally, the officiating.Coaches grit their teeth or, in the case of Packers' Mike McCarthy, slam their play sheet to the ground. Players demonstratively protest calls and reversals of calls. Broadcasters, including former NFL officiating chiefs, wonder aloud where that decision came from and how it was reached. Owners probably throw food around in their luxury boxes.Points of emphasis become so emphasized that they exceed their intent. Hey, a Miami Dolphin gets hurt trying to avoid landing too hard on a quarterback in fear of getting a penalty for something that physics say is unavoidable.Video replay in September became more intrusive than ever, and perhaps even a bit unreliable.Of course, there are three more months to go. Let's see what October brings.

How are we feeling today? The sour taste of defeat is always something a team never would like to have in their mouths. If you’re the Chargers however, losing the Kansas City Chiefs is just a consistent gut punch to the stomach. It’s nine punches right to your abdomen, each one making your feel weaker than the last one. Nine straight match ups have come and gone over the past five seasons to where the Bolts offense has been unable to best the Chiefs. In fact, that might one of the biggest downfalls of young Chargers general manager Tom Telesco’s career. Since taking over as the man in charge, Telesco has gone 2-9, with one of his wins coming in an overtime 36-yard field goal from Nick Novak. Sure, that kick secure the Bolts their first playoff appearance since 2009, but even the most loyal of Chargers fans have got to be getting a little antsy and aggravated at seeing the boys of in red completely demolish their boys year in and year out. A 38-28 loss to open the season is tough. Mainly due to the fact that many around the league believed that this could be the Chargers season. Yes, we get it angry Chargers fans who will be commenting later, they say that every season. Still, with a revamped offensive line, a strong growing defensive unit and the undeniable talent that is quarterback Philip Rivers, this really should be the first time that people can say ‘this is the Chargers season’ and mean it. But let’s stop making excuses and stick to the facts. The lackluster offensive performance along with a poor rush allowed the Chiefs to take away a much needed season-opening win from the Bolts. Still, there was plenty to appreciate from the game from and even more to look back and fix for the future. Here’s some of the biggest takeaways from Sunday’s action.Bet on the Young Talent The Chargers overall performance was filled with poor playing calling and even worse execution on both sides of the ball. That being said Casey Hayward Jersey , the youthful movement from the past several draft classes was on full display and boy, did it not disappoint. As written in a column earlier this morning, safety Derwin James is a rising star, making plays in both the running game and pass coverage. His top level speed helped save a touchdown against Chiefs receiver DeAnthony Thomas while he also recorded the only sack of afternoon. Fellow rookie linebacker Kyzir White impressed out on the field as well. Leading the Chargers defense with six total tackles and three solo stops, White looked good in space and really only missed one key play in the open field against Chiefs wide reciever Tyreek Hill. Second-year wide receiver Mike Williams showed fans why the Chargers drafted him seventh overall last season with five receptions for 81 yards. Meanwhile, second-year running back Austin Ekeler looked to possibly cause some drama in the Bolts backfield following his 126 total yards of offense along with solo touchdown. The Bolts need to get offensive guard Forrest Lamp and defensive end Joey Bosa healthy but overall, Telesco’s young talent has much to hold their heads high about. The third receiver spot is still wide openOh Artavis Scott, how some of us miss you. Following his season-ending ankle surgery, the Chargers are still in the midst of finding a consistent third receiver for the offense. With the losses of Scott, tight end Hunter Henry and the decline of legendary Charger Antonio Gates, Telesco might want to be getting on the phone to see who is available for the right price. When looking back at Rivers stat line, the 36-year old quarterback went 34 of 51. In reality, of the () passes missed, nearly 15 of them were drops. Chargers receivers Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin combined for three total catches on 10 targets for nine yards and a touchdown. While Williams was able to score, that’s not enough to take away from the poor overall performance he displayed against one of the more questionable secondaries in the league. When looking back at the film, hopefully receivers coach Phil McGeoghan excuses Kennan Allen and the other Williams from the room. They shouldn’t have to hear the verbal beat down that should be coming to the rest of the receiver room. J.J Jones http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-ingram-jersey , three strikes and you’re out There’s always something good and something bad you can say about a player’s performance. They may make a great tackle than miss one in the open field later. They could make an unbelievable catch before dropping an easy snag near the end zone. Then there’s J.J. Jones, who could not have had a worse outing if you yourself wrote it.Jones was irrelevant with the offense, collecting zero receptions on zero targets. From there, things only spiraled downward. Averaging just 18 yards per kick return and -4 yards on punts, Jones offered little to no success on the Chargers special teams unit. Then the icing on the cake; two fumbles that would lead to a turnover and eventual score from the Chiefs offense. If Jones’s role was limited to being a special teams contributor, he might not be around longer. Everyone can have a bad game finding open space but two fumbles? Sorry, no second chances. The Chiefs offense is legitAs much as it might pain for everyone to hear; this Chiefs team might have gotten better. Sure, while the defensive woes in the secondary might be a problem to begin the season, the offensive production that quarterback Patrick Mahomes displayed on Sunday afternoon were legitimate. Many believed that the second-year quarterback could stumble out of the gate to truly begin his NFL career. He soared instead, leaving the Chargers defense and special teams in questions for the future. Having a consistent rhythm under center, Mahomes was able to go 15 of 27 for 256 yards and four touchdowns. Sure, it helps to have one of the league’s fastest receivers in Hill as your go-to option, but with an inability to have a consistent pass rush to make him flustered is a flat out problem. The Chiefs offensive line is a strong group but with players such as Eric Fisher and Cameron Erving only allowing combined one sack? That speaks dividends on the Chargers pass rush moving forward. The Oakland Raiders are still wondering how the Chicago Bears convinced them to give up outside linebacker Khalil Mack along with a second-round pick while Denver nearly lost a close one to the Seattle Seahawks. This Chiefs unit is no joke moving forward and if the Chargers can establish a pass rush, they might be adding more wins to that nine streak column.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — When the New Orleans Saints finally found their rhythm http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-avonte-maddox-jersey , they marched one step closer to the Super Bowl.Using a dominant ball-control offense and a few gambles that paid off, the Saints got two touchdown passes from Drew Brees and two interceptions from Marcus Lattimore in a 20-14 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.Brees took the Saints on scoring drives of 92, 79 and 67 yards after falling behind 14-0. Lattimore clinched it when Nick Foles‘ pass from the Saints 27 deflected off usually sure-handed receiver Alshon Jeffery with about two minutes remaining. A couple dozen Saints players surged off the sideline toward the end zone in celebration, while Jeffery fell face-first to the turf in agony.Article continues below ...“We were real calm and poised and we knew we were going to get things done,” Brees said.New Orleans (14-3) will host the NFC title game next week against the Rams (13-4). Los Angeles, which fell 45-35 at the Superdome in November, will try again next week, with the winner going to the Super Bowl. The Saints’ win finished off a sweep of the divisional round by teams coming off byes.Wil Lutz added two field goals for the Saints, who last got this far in 2009, when they won the Super Bowl.Philadelphia (10-8) will not repeat as NFL champion; no team has done so since the 2004 Patriots.“We were going down to win, but I just felt like we beat ourselves, honestly,” Jeffery said. “Hats off to those guys.”Eagles coach Doug Pederson thought his team was on its way on that final drive to pulling off another stunning comeback win“It just felt like the momentum at that point was in our favor,” he said. “It’s been that way all season, and we felt like that sort of magic was going to continue.”This was really two games in one. Philly scored on its first two drives as the Saints could do virtually nothing right.“Listen, they got off to a fast start, they’re a great team,” Brees said. “Nick Foles has done a phenomenal job for them. We knew it was going to be different than last time.”After that opening period, it was all New Orleans, yet the resilient Eagles kept it close enough that when Lutz missed a 52-yard field goal with 2:58 remaining, they were only one-score behind.Foles, the hero of last year’s Super Bowl run, got them in position for yet another late winning score — just like last week at Chicago and last February against New England for the championship. Then, Jeffery couldn’t handle a second-down pass, and it was over.“That’s a great championship team,” Saints coach Sean Payton said of the Eagles. “We remained confident.”Brees had 2-yard touchdown passes to rookie Keith Kirkwood and All-Pro wideout Michael Thomas, who had 12 receptions for a franchise playoff-record 171 yards.Thomas’ touchdown capped an 18-play, 92-yard drive in which the Saints actually covered more than 100 yards because of penalties. It lasted 11½ minutes.“What you saw from him today is what I see every day in practice,” Brees said of Thomas. “He’s a big-time player who wants to be the guy to make plays.”Philadelphia had the ball for more than nine minutes in the first quarter, after which the Eagles had the ball about 13 minutes and never scored.New Orleans, which routed Philadelphia 48-7 in November, gambled on its first play — and lost. Brees was a bit short on a deep pass to Ted Ginn Jr., and it was picked off by Cre’Von LeBlanc, one of several Eagles backups being used in the secondary due to injuries during the regular season.“I just think we had to find our rhythm,” Brees said. “I tried to take a shot on the first play. Unfortunately, that didn’t work.”After the first quarter Womens Josh Sweat Jersey , though, a lot worked for New Orleans.Foles completed all five throws on a 76-yard drive capped by Jordan Matthews‘ 37-yard TD catch . The Eagles, who quickly fell behind 17-0 in that previous Superdome loss, suddenly led 7-0.Not long after, a 75-yard drive highlighted by a 30-yard pass to Jeffery ended with Foles’ short leap over the goal line for a 14-0 edge.Indeed, the visitors were in control until Lattimore picked off Foles’ deep throw to Zach Ertz. The Saints showed plenty of moxie on their 79-yard march to a touchdown, faking a punt at their 30, with Taysom Hill running 4 yards for a first down. They also went on fourth-and-goal from the 2, and Philadelphia’s rapidly depleting defense surrendered Kirkwood’s 2-yard touchdown.“When you just get that in guys’ minds that we’re going to be aggressive, that we’re going to play to win, it allows guys to relax and to cut loose,” Brees said. With Brees finding the range and his receivers finding loads of room to roam, New Orleans crept to 14-10 at halftime on Lutz’s 45-yard field goal.UGLY STARTMaybe the Saints were rusty after their wild-card bye, but they got two first downs, including one by penalty, gained 17 yards, and Brees threw an interception and had a fumble that was recovered by teammate Ryan Ramczyk in the opening period. Meanwhile, Philly gained 153 yards and scored two TDs, and Foles went 8 of 9 for 113.But Foles was intercepted by Lattimore early in the second quarter, and the Saints finally got going.NUMBERSBrees, who turns 40 Tuesday, finished 28 for 38 despite the awful start, throwing for 301 yards. Aside from Thomas, who was targeted 16 times — he led the NFL with 125 catches — no one caught more than four passes for New Orleans. Alvin Kamara had four for 35 yards and also rushed for 71 yards. Mark Ingram added 53 yards on the ground as the Saints outrushed the Eagles 137-49. New Orleans is 6-0 at home in the playoffs with Payton and Brees.Foles was 18 for 31 for 201 yards. Jeffery had five catches for a team-leading 63 yards before the game-sealing drop.INJURIESIn a span of three plays, two starters were hurt and needed to be carted off.First, Saints defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins went down midway in the first quarter, unable to put any weight on his left foot. Two plays later, Eagles right guard Brandon Brooks hurt his right leg and departed.Several Saints players said they would be playing for Rankins the rest of the way because his season was done.Philly also lost DB Rasul Douglas in the second quarter to an ankle injury, but he was back in the second half. DLs Fletcher Cox, an All-Pro, and Michael Bennett also were sidelined at times before returning. In the fourth quarter, left tackle Jason Peters left.UP NEXTThe Saints host the Rams in the early game next Sunday, with the winner going to the Super Bowl. Ranking them 1 to 32 - The Athletic4. Carson Wentz, Eagles — He could play another 10 years and not have a group of pass-catchers as good as this 2019 group. The Eagles’ pieces complement each other well. Alshon Jeffery can make contested catches and be productive in the red zone. Zach Ertz is one of the best route-runners in the league and can work the middle of the field. DeSean Jackson is still an elite vertical threat. And Nelson Agholor has been productive from the slot. The Eagles are deep too with second-year tight end Dallas Goedert presenting a matchup problem in 2-TE sets. And the team drafted another red-zone target in J.J. Arcega-Whiteside in the second round. Wentz will be playing behind a deep and talented offensive line. Doug Pederson has proven to be one of the game’s better play-callers, blending his West Coast offense background with spread concepts and adapting to his personnel. The only questions on the Eagles’ offense are with the run game (Miles Sanders Mike Wallace Jersey , Jordan Howard) and the quarterback’s health. But the pieces are in place for Wentz to have a big year.Eagles Training Camp Practice Notes: A fight breaks out! - BGNFIGHT! There was a big pile up on the field after an 11-on-11 red zone rep. It was unclear how things got started at first but then it became apparent that Derek Barnett and Andre Dillard were involved after each being pulled aside after the scrum.Fight Night at Camp - BGN RadioBrandon Lee Gowton & Michael Kist recap the last two days of practice and roster moves for the Eagles, including a fight that went down with the first round pick! Powered by SB Nation and Bleeding Green Nation.Mailbag: Why are the Eagles seemingly content with their quarterback situation, as is? - PhillyVoiceSigning another quarterback: If you sign another QB (and who knows what the cost of that would be), there’s a good chance he is going to be a vested veteran, AKA a player with at least four accrued seasons under his belt. That’s true of Brock Osweiler, Matt Cassel, Sam Bradford, Colin Kaepernick, etc etc. If you sign a guy like that and they make your initial 53-man roster, you have now bought them for the entire season, as their contract becomes guaranteed. Kessler, who has three accrued seasons, is not a vested veteran, and can be released at any time without penalty on his non-guaranteed, one-year contract. In other words, if there comes a point when the Eagles once again have Wentz and a healthy Sudfeld and they need that extra roster spot, they can simply release Kessler.Paul Worrilow: ‘I’m going to make the most of every one of these moments’- PE.com“Oh, it’s great for us and it’s great for Paul, seeing him on the football field,” linebackers coach Ken Flajole said on Monday when practice ended. “The untold story in all of this is that I don’t think anybody on the outside of our building realizes how hard this guy has worked to come back from that knee injury he suffered a year ago. So, to see the work he’s put in during the offseason to get back and to see him get out here and get some competitive reps, I’m just so happy for him. Nobody deserves it more than Paul. He’s been the consummate pro with the way he’s attacked his rehab. His enthusiasm to get back out here has been apparent and we’re all so happy to see him on the field.”For Eagles’ Isaac Seumalo, outlook no longer seems guarded - InquirerWhen coaches and teammates talk about Seumalo, they tend not to start off with his work at left guard. They talk, as Groh did, about his versatility. This is something fans and reporters tend to undervalue, but with just 46 players active on game day, an offensive lineman who can play – really play, as in, do a good job, not just line up and lunge – at guard, center, and tackle is a precious commodity. “Smart, tough, physical, versatile http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-haloti-ngata-jersey ,” right guard Brandon Brooks said, when asked what he thinks of when he thinks of Seumalo. “Super-smart player. The type of player that’s extremely coachable. You only have to tell him one time.” Playing three positions means taking a broad view of your situation, Seumalo said. “You can’t be too much focused on yourself,” he said. “You’ve got to be unselfish, do what’s asked of you.”2020 NFL Mock Draft: PFF’s Mike Renner’s first preseason mock draft - PFF27. Philadelphia Eagles – DI Levi Onwuzurike, Washington. You know the Eagles can never get enough defensive linemen. Onwuzurike is one of our favorite breakout candidates for the 2019 season. He earned a 91.0 run-defense grade and 82.5 pass-rushing grade on only 391 snaps last year.Barnwell: Has the inevitable Drew Brees decline already begun? - ESPNDo the Saints have something to be concerned about with their star quarterback? At 40 years old, Brees is in barely charted territory; the only other passers in league history to make it through a full season as a starter in their age-40 campaign are Tom Brady and Brett Favre. The good news for New Orleans is that both played well and made deep playoff runs, although Saints fans won’t need to be reminded of how Favre’s 2009 season ended. Normally, I like to go through the research before detailing what I’ve found, but I’m going to stick the findings up here first this time. The best answer to the Brees question I just posed is “maybe.” I don’t think what happened at the end of 2018 necessarily indicates that Brees is going to be at the Carr level again in 2019. Simultaneously, though, there’s no guarantee we will see the old Brees, because we just don’t have a big enough sample of Hall of Fame quarterbacks getting to this point of their careers in the modern era to know what triggers their decline. Brees could fall off and become a middling quarterback for reasons totally unrelated to what we saw last season. So could Brady. Father Time arrives without warning.New and somewhat conflicting reports on the Trent Williams situation - Hogs HavenSchefter is reporting what has happened up till now. That is, he’s offering facts, presumably sourced either from the Redskins, or, more likely, from the teams that have called looking to make a deal. La Canfora is giving us his opinion about what will happen in the future, likely based on conversations he’s had with his sources within the Redskins organization. JLC hasn’t said that Schefter is wrong; he simply states that the trade is inevitable. I find it interesting that Grant Paulsen has decided to back the prediction, however guarded his support might be, saying only that “to this point, [La Canfora] has been right” on this story.DeAndre Baker diagnosed with a sprained knee, WR Etta-Tawo suffers torn Achilles - Big Blue ViewBaker is currently listed by the Giants as “day to day,” with the hope that he will be back on the field sooner rather than later. “It’s a big relief, certainly,” coach Pat Shurmur said after Monday’s practice. “He’s been coming along real well. To know that it’s not serious at this point is good.” Unfortunately, the Giants did suffer another injury to a wide receiver in practice on Monday. Wide receiver Amba Etta-Tawo had to be carted off the field after injuring his left leg while making a catch. Etta-Tawo, signed following the rash of injuries the Giants suffered at the wide receiver position early in camp, was diagnosed with a torn Achilles tendon.[BLG Note: Former Eagles defensive tackle Anthony Rush is playing well for the Raiders.]RADIO WARS: Brandon Lee Gowton Again Throws Shade at John Barchard - Crossing BroadSo Barchard took the meat of the show, brought it to WIP, and left Gowton with nothing but the original naming rights. game in Oakland could be an important one in the playoff chase for the Raiders and Jacksonville.Recent slumps by both teams have ended all that talk Womens Yannick Ngakoue Jersey , leaving the farewell to the Coliseum as the only meaningful story line when the Raiders (6-7) host the Jaguars (4-9) on Sunday in their final home game before moving to Las Vegas next season."It's hard right now to really think about what it's going to be like stepping in there for the last time ever," Raiders coach Jon Gruden said. "The last time of the season is one thing, the last time ever really hits a tone with me and I'm sure a lot of people."The Raiders come into the game having lost three in a row, all by at least 21 points, and are all but eliminated from playoff contention. The Jaguars' skid is even longer; they are the first team in 33 years to lose five straight by at least 17 points. But for Sunday, the focus will be on the end of an era in Oakland. The Raiders have been through dress rehearsals for this a couple of times in recent years, with home finales in 2015 that was also Charles Woodson's final home game and last year serving as possible farewell games before the team ended up staying in Oakland just a bit longer. But with the stadium in Las Vegas on target to open next summer, this time it should be for real."I guess you erase those memories and take on these ones I guess because all of the players that have played here DJ Chark Jersey , this organization's history, all of those things," quarterback Derek Carr said. "I was here for 'C-Wood's' last game. There was some pretty cool memories that I have just of my own being on the team, but I think this one will rank right up there. I expect it to be crazy and loud and all those kinds of things."Jaguars coach Doug Marrone was drafted by the Raiders in 1986 when the team was in Los Angeles but never played for the franchise. But he still enjoyed his visits to Oakland when he was with the Jets and Buffalo, especially when he got to visit with late owner Al Davis.Marrone remembers being razzed by fans and how intense the environment could be and will make sure his players are prepared."We tried to give them a sense of and when I say crazy atmosphere, I mean that in a very positive sense," he said. "We talked about the locker room and we've talked about it. I think it will be an emotional day for a lot of people there. ... There will be a lot of emotion knowing that finally, I know last year they went through it a little bit http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-a.-j.-cann-jersey , but the finality of it being the last game for sure."While the Jaguars haven't been to Oakland in six years and many of their players have no experience at the Coliseum, some veterans are looking forward to being part of the celebration on Sunday."The fans come early and get all dressed up and they use intimidation tactics and they talk trash. It's definitely fun," defensive lineman Calais Campbell said. "I grew up in Denver so I grew up in the division, so I know a lot about the Black Hole. It's definitely exciting, especially with the history and this being the last game there. You try to play spoiler."DRAFT HELPThe Jaguars credit one team with doing the most to land them standout defensive end Josh Allen: the Raiders. The Jags had done countless mock drafts, and just a couple of those netted Allen with the seventh-overall pick. They figured the only chance they had was if the Raiders chose someone off the radar. Oakland went with Clemson defensive end Clelin Ferrell with the fourth selection, allowing Allen to fall to Jacksonville."We wish we could have taken Josh and Clelin," Gruden said with a laugh. "It was a tough decision Womens Marqise Lee Jersey , and I know Jacksonville's got a good young player there that's a great kid, too."Allen leads all rookies with nine sacks and is a defensive cornerstone of the franchise's pending rebuild."I could have ended up anywhere," Allen said. "I could have ended up falling. I could have been No. 1, No. 2. I could have been anywhere. I'm glad I'm here and I'm thankful to be here."THIRD QUARTER WOESThe Raiders have had major problems coming out of halftime this season. Oakland has been outscored 98-20 in the third quarter for the worst scoring margin in the league, 30 points worse than Cincinnati. The entire second half has been an issue of late for Oakland. The Raiders have scored only one TD on 24 drives in the second half the past four games and are averaging a league-worst 1.14 points per drive in the second half in that span."I don't know what we're drinking or what we're eating at halftime or what we're saying, but we've got to do a better job," Gruden said.WEST COAST WOESJacksonville has two wins in 14 trips to the West Coast, with both victories coming in Oakland. The Jaguars are winless in Seattle Telvin Smith Jersey , San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles. But they're 2-3 against the Raiders, winning there in 1997 and in the 2004 season finale. Scoring has been an issue with each of Jacksonville's cross-country trips. The Jags have averaged 13.6 points in five games at the Oakland Coliseum.SAFETY DANCEThe Raiders have taken losses at safety with rookie Johnathan Abram going down with a season-ending shoulder injury in the opener and then losing Karl Joseph to a season-ending injury last month. Oakland brought in D.J. Swearinger in to fill the void but that didn't work out and he was released this week. Now the Raiders might move cornerback Daryl Worley to safety, which would create an opportunity to get a better look at younger cornerbacks like Trayvon Mullen, Isaiah Johnson and Nick Nelson.AP Sports Writer Mark Long in Jacksonville, Florida, contributed to this report Like millions of football fans, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is getting tired of all the holding penalties across the NFL this season. As tonight’s Titans-Jaguars game was delayed over and over again by holding penalties http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-t.j.-yeldon-jersey , Brady tweeted that he couldn’t take it anymore.“Too many penalties. Just let us play!” Brady wrote. “I’m turning off this game I can’t watch these ridiculous penalties anymore.”Brady wasn’t the only one taking notice of all the penalties. On the FOX broadcast Joe Buck and Troy Aikman complained about it, and former head of officiating Mike Pereira said the officials have been put in a difficult position by the league, which made holding a point of emphasis this season. The NFL’s decision to make holding a point of emphasis came because of a sense among some coaches that linemen were getting away with holding too much. But that would be preferable to the way holding calls are taking the fun out of games this season.

with the 49ers on Monday to put a bow on what Gould called a “weird offseason” a few hours later.Gould got franchise tagged by the 49ers Womens Leonard Floyd Jersey , saw the team flirt with Stephen Gostkowski before Gostkowski re-signed with the Patriots in April and requested a trade a short time later. That trade request came with a report that Gould was not going to continue negotiations on a long-term deal and the kicker said he was unsure if he’d report to the 49ers at all, but things changed quickly over the last few days. There was a lot of speculation about Gould wanting a move back to the Bears because he spent the first 11 years of his career there, still lives there in the offseason and talked about wanting to stay close to his family, but Gould told Adam Schefter of ESPN that talks sparked back up on Sunday and that the 49ers made an “aggressive push” that reached the finish line.“Who knows what would have happened if something didn’t get done, but the 49ers stepped up big time to get this done Eric Kush Jersey ,” Gould said. “They stepped outside the box, had an open mind and we were able to get something done today.”Gould said his family will be staying in Chicago during the 2019 season because his son’s been enrolled in kindergarten for the coming school year, but that could change in the coming years because Gould’s set to be spending a lot of time in California. Most analysts pair them with an OT either in the first or second round of mock drafts http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-lance-alworth-jersey , while some also have the Bolts double-dipping and taking another project later on day 3.One name that I’ve seen mentioned in the same breathe as the Chargers on multiple occasions has been Washington right tackle Kaleb McGary, a monolithic prospect with some inspiring history. Recently, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle tweeted out that McGary was set to meet with a litany of clubs, including the Chargers.McGary stands out among this offensive tackle for a variety of reasons. Usually, it’s because he’s a hair under 6-foot-8 Dan Fouts Jersey , easily making him one, if not, the tallest prospect at his position. But that’s not what does it for me. He separates himself from the pack with his nasty demeanor, demoralizing play style, and “take no prisoners” attitude. It’s this mindset of McGary’s that I believe will be his biggest asset and the most important aspect of his game that he can bring to the Chargers. I don’t know if you guys have paid much attention to the offensive line Joey Bosa Jersey , or more specifically, Sam Tevi, but he doesn’t exactly do anything to leave his opponents quivering in fear or rattled with intimidation. McGary would boost those ratings a good bit.Would you guys like to see Kaleb McGary don the bolt next season? Why or why not? The game that will determine the AFC representative in the Super Bowl could be played in an uncharacteristically intimate venue.Per multiple sources, the AFC title game will be played at the StubHub Center, if the L.A. Emphatically Mike Wallace Jersey , no, they should not. I’ll pose a counter-question. If Sendejo weren’t already on the team, would you trade a fourth-round pick for a 32-year-old backup safety? Hell no, you wouldn’t. And finally, in regard to Bill’s question about cutting Fort instead of Sendejo, I don’t see the Eagles cutting Fort, who got $1.9 million guaranteed in his deal, which means that if you cut him, you have $1.9 million in dead money. If Fort is just God awful in training camp like Corey Nelson was a year ago, the Eagles would cut him, but I think he would only be cut on merit. To note, the Eagles don’t have to cut Sendejo or Fort anytime soon. If they aren’t on the roster for 10 games, they won’t count toward the formula. In 2018, Caleb Sturgis was set to count for a comp pick gained for the Eagles, but then he went on a missed FG barrage for the Chargers, and they cut him. Kessler is here to push Thorson, and to a lesser extent, Sudfeld. As for Perez, this isn’t a good sign for him. You always want competition. The Eagles have a great starter in Wentz. Those backups will battle it out to see who gets to be the third QB.The 2019 NFL Power Rankings, Taking Stock of Offseason Movement - FMIA8. *PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (10-8). I am trusting Carson Wentz to play a full season. If I were not, and I were trusting Nate Sudfeld to be the 2019 Nick Foles, I sure as heck would not have the Eagles eighth. So … I get the Eagles allowing Foles to leave in free agency. It was a mensch thing to do. Foles, more than any single player, was responsible for Philly winning its first Super Bowl and writing one of the great stories in recent NFL history. And then Foles had a second ridiculous run last year, engineering a 16-15 playoff upset of the Bears in Chicago, and he got to be so beloved in the Eagles’ locker room that Chris Long built a shrine to Foles in his locker. He wanted to leave. He wanted one more shot, at 30, to have his own team, a team that wouldn’t put him in the shadow of the prospective franchise quarterback. So Foles got the golden hand shake from Doug Pederson and Howie Roseman and Jeff Lurie. Good for Foles. Not so sure it’s the best thing for the Eagles—though if they’d kept him for a couple of years at legit QB money, it might have led to valuable long-termer Brandon Graham leaving in free agency; can’t sign ‘em all. The Eagles can be confident in Carson Wentz, in his health and his ability. (I would be too.) But sure? No way. Maybe it’s a good thing that he stayed in the pocket more (he was more accurate, to be sure), and that probably serves him best for a long career. That wasn’t all this offseason threw at the Seahawks. Two players are absent — Jalen Ramsey and Telvin Smith — and that doesn’t matter at all to anyone except the guy in charge of the entire franchise. You see, Tom Coughlin decided to use the majority of his time during Thursday’s State of the Franchise presentation to hammer home the point that all players participating in all team activities is a non-negotiable.“We’re close to 100 percent attendance and quite frankly all of our players should be here Corey Grant Jersey ,” Coughlin said. There’s only one problem: The workouts that Jalen and Telvin are “skipping” are 100 percent voluntary. Phase One of offseason activities consists of conditioning workouts and weight room activities. Some players, especially if they are Pro Bowl or All-Pro caliber players, work with their own trainers at home or in a secluded environment. In short Womens Marcell Dareus Jersey , they do what’s best for them because they know better and they have the results to back it up.But not to this grumpy excuse for a front office lead, who is spending the twilight of his life extolling the virtues of grit and determination and why the youths aren’t working hard enough. The man was talked out of drafting Deshaun Watson. He doesn’t know what a tight end is.And it seems he doesn’t know (or worse, doesn’t care) that saying that voluntary workouts aren’t really voluntary is a violation of the most recent NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement which reads that “No Club official may indicate to a player that the Club’s offseason workout program or classroom instruction is not voluntary.”I bet Coughlin hates bat flips too. The Jaguars have a lot of work to do when it comes to putting together the right personnel to run their offense in 2019 and it appears they’ve settled on their choice of a coach to put that offense in place.Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the team is expected to hire former Vikings offensive coordinator John DeFilippo as their offensive coordinator. Current Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was fired from that job during the 2018 and quarterbacks coach Scott Milanovich filled in on an interim basis.DeFilippo also interviewed with the Cardinals about their coordinator vacancy Josh Lambo Jersey , but the Jaguars job offers a chance to call plays that doesn’t exist in Arizona as head coach Kliff Kingsbury will be handling those duties.DeFilippo was fired by the Vikings with three games left in the 2018 season after continued complaints from Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer about the team’s lack of a consistent running game. The Jaguars have running backs Leonard Fournette and Carlos Hyde on hand, but it remains to be seen who will be playing quarterback after Blake Bortles was benched during the season. One option could be Nick Foles, who played for DeFilippo when DeFilippo was the Eagles quarterbacks coach in 2017 and could be on the move this offseason. There are also needs for more production at receiver and on the offensive line http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-taven-bryan-jersey , so there’s still things to fall into place before there will be a clear idea of what Jacksonville’s offense will look like next season.

and so far Cody Whitehair Jersey , the Bears have met with 15 different running backs. With the departure of Jordan Howard, it’s clear they will be draft a running back. It’s just a matter of who and when."The NFL draft is closing in on single-digit days away and the Chicago Bears will one of few teams that will head into draft weekend without a first or second round pick and more importantly, without any pressing needs. One of the positions where they will absolutely look to add will be at running back. Despite not picking until the 87th overall selection, it’s plausible to expect the Bears to land a runner that can add a new element to the team’s new committee backfield. For the Bears, they won’t need that do-it-all generational talent or even that high round talent that could displace newcomer Mike Davis as the “starter.” This is a team that will simply be looking at a better fit and someone that they can mold into a player that can catch out of the backfield and create bigger runs when called upon. With that in mind, I’m not going to include Josh Jacobs or Darrell Henderson in this list because I don’t see them as realistic targets due to where they’ll be drafted (late first to early second round).1. Miles Sanders (Penn State) Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty ImagesLet me first start off by saying if the Bears want Sanders, they are going to need to trade up for him. As I addressed in last week’s mailbag, I do think it’s a possibility that the team could end up using a 2020 second rounder to move up and land their top target. Maybe that’s Sanders. They have already met with him twice, including using one of their 30 private visits, late last month.Sanders is a well-rounded back that can catch, pass block and successfully run in multiple different blocking schemes http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jonathan-bullard-jersey , whether that’s zone or power. He’s also a one-year starter with minimal wear and tear, which bodes well if a team like the Bears decided to use him more as a full-time back later down the line. Sanders isn’t going to blow you away with speed and does have a tendency to dance too much in the backfield, but in terms of fit and skill set, he should be the Bears top choice.Projected Round: Mid Second/Early Third Round2. Trayveon Williams (Texas A&M)Photo by Bob Levey/Getty ImagesAnother thing about my list that must be noted; these are not my overall player rankings. These are simply players I see that are the “best” fits in Nagy’s offense. With Williams, you’re getting a smaller back that may not be built as your prototypical three-down back, but has the ability to do everything you’d need and more. Williams is smaller and doesn’t show great lateral movement, but it’s his overall skill set and draft grade that makes him such an ideal fit.He has home run ability once he gets to the second level. While some may watch him and not believe he’s overly fast, he’s a long strider that can make enough players miss and find the end zone consistently. Williams is also versatile when it comes to running outside or inside zone and has very good vision to be successful running between the tackles, regardless of blocking scheme. Williams also has very good hands out of the backfield. He’s a pure hands catcher, despite showing a limited route tree in college. Most importantly, he’s an underrated pass blocker. When you combine all of these things together Womens Akiem Hicks Jersey , you have yourself an ideal fit. The Bears have also met with Williams three separate times already, including a top 30 visit.Projected Round: Late Third/Fourth Round3. Damien Harris (Alabama)Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty ImagesIf there’s one thing we know about Alabama running backs, it’s that they are usually well-rounded and pro-ready. How high their ceiling is, is another question. With Williams, I see a well-rounded back that can catch, run between the tackles and do enough to get by in the pass blocking department. He doesn’t have blazing speed, but he’s above-average in almost every category that truly matters. In terms of vision, he doesn’t have the elite vision that Jacobs does but again, he has more than enough ability in that department to be a successful NFL runner. Williams is not afraid of contact and does possess an encouraging second gear once he gets into the open field. He’s not exactly an explosive player but again, has more than enough to get by and be a good compliment to Davis and Tarik Cohen.Projected Round: Third Round4. Justice Hill (Oklahoma State)Photo by Ed Zurga/Getty ImagesHill is yet another runner that comes from the same mold as a Henderson or Trayveon Williams type of back.Hill is a bit on the smaller side (5’10, 198 pounds) and does look small on film at times Bobby Massie Jersey , but he also has that explosive ability that could attract the Bears in a committee-type role. His (4.4) 40-time was not only impressive, but matched what I saw on film.My bigger concern with Hill is his thin build. Against a guy like Williams, he may be taller and similar in overall measurables, but Williams seems to be the thicker and more well-built back to me.Even so, Hill is someone that should be there in the fourth round and also someone that fits the profile of what Nagy described back at the combine. If the Bears see an opportunity to grab talent at another position with their first pick, Hill could make a lot of sense in the fourth round.Projected Round: Fourth Round5. David Montgomery (Iowa State)Photo by Tim Warner/Getty ImagesThe more I dive into the draft process, the more I realize that I am higher on Montgomery than most.Yes, it’s true that he didn’t have a ton of explosive plays in college and no he does not possess that breakaway speed that many Bears fans missed when transitioning from Matt Forte to Howard. Even so, he’s a damn good runner and offers everything that Nagy would need in this offense. When I watch Montgomery, I see a lot of Kareem Hunt. I see a player that isn’t overly elite at much of anything but is very well-rounded and has the ability to make defenders miss whether it’s with his feet or simply breaking tackles. It’s possible that the Bears will want a more explosive player and I would understand if that were the case, but don’t discount Montgomery’s fit in this offense.Projected Round: Late Second/Mid Third RoundPotential Sleepers:Rodney Anderson (Oklahoma)Anderson’s biggest issue at Oklahoma was purely health related. Obviously that will be a sizable gamble for any team to make http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jordan-howard-jersey , but in terms of true talent and ability, Anderson is the best running back in this draft.Bruce Anderson (North Dakota State)The other Anderson is someone that many people will sleep on due to competition level. Bruce isn’t someone who is going to blow your mind with his testing numbers, but he has a lot of Matt Forte to his game and someone that could make a lot of sense in the fourth-to-fifth round if they choose to wait that long.Bryce Love (Stanford)Much like Rodney Anderson, Love is purely a gamble due to his health history over the past few seasons at Stanford. When healthy, Love is a weapon that would make any NFL team happy. I’m not sure many teams will give him a draftable grade, but if he’s there in the late rounds, he’s well worth the flier. The Bears were without two of their most important defensive players in Akiem Hicks and Roquan Smith today. Then they lost starting quarterback Mitchell Trubisky on the first offensive series. Against the Vikings, that didn’t matter at all.Despite having a depleted roster, the Bears absolutely dominated the Vikings for four quarters, winning 16-6.Chicago’s defense made a mockery of Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins. He was under relentless pressure all day and rarely found anyone open downfield. The Vikings have paid a fortune for Cousins and wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, but their offense wouldn’t look much different if they had a starting quarterback and two starting wide receivers making the league minimum salary. Only late in the fourth quarter Womens Eddie Jackson Jersey , when trailing 16-0, did the Vikings finally start having some success throwing the ball downfield. That proved to be too little, too late. For the Bears, Khalil Mack, Nick Williams and Roy Robertson-Harris all had big games pressuring Cousins. Losing two of their top front seven players didn’t make much difference.Bears backup quarterback Chase Daniel stepped in for Trubisky and played better than Trubisky has this season, throwing a first-quarter touchdown pass to give the Bears an early lead and then playing efficient football to hold that lead. The Bears’ defense remains one of the best in the NFL, and Daniel played well enough that the Bears should feel confident even if Trubisky misses significant time. In the wide-open NFC North, the 3-1 Bears are keeping pace.

Didn’t happen, Ingram had 7 and Bosa 5.5 sacks. I will note that Bosa only played in 7 games. The Chargers are similar to the Texans in that they do lots of things well on defense but don’t have that one thing they are outstanding at to hang their helmet on. If Thursday night’s games were any indication, you can expect some starters to get a bit more playing time this week, and some of the rookies getting a little more comfortable in their new roles. For some Eagles connections in these matchups, you’ve got Matt Barkley and LeSean McCoy playing for the Bills, and Torrey Smith for the Panthers. In the second (and televised) game, there’s Chase Daniel and Trey Burton — and of course, head coach Matt Nagy — for the Bears vs. Golden Tate for the Giants. Ertz is a 28-year-old Pro Bowler who set career highs in catches (116), receiving yards (1,163), and catch rate (74.4 percent) last season. Goedert didn’t need much time to adjust to the league even after playing his college ball at South Dakota State, grading out as one of league’s best run blockers at his position. After hauling in 33 catches and four touchdowns, he’s capable of filling the gaps others leave behind if they focus too hard on Ertz. The defense? Eh, on paper, it looks solid, but it doesn’t lack its areas of concern. Speaking for the first time since the Birds were eliminated from the playoffs, Jim Schwartz was asked about his thoughts on the the player acquisitions to his defense this offseason. ”It’s obviously still a work in progress,” he said. “If history holds true Stefen Wisniewski Jersey , there will be another addition somewhere along the line. Howie and Joe have never been shy about adding another player in training camp or at the waiver wire or anything else.” Well then. It sounds a lot like Schwartz would welcome more players being added to his side of the ball. This offseason, of course, the Eagles allocated more resources to their offense than their defense.Appreciating the Eagles - Iggles BlitzSince Jeffrey Lurie took over the Eagles in 1994, he wanted to turn them into a good organization. The first few years were erratic, on and off the field. There wasn’t a strong leader for the organization and it was easy to question just what was going on. Lurie hired Tom Modrak to be the team’s General Manager in 1998 and that had a huge impact. He brought experience and structure to the front office. Lurie and Joe Banner then hired Andy Reid in 1999 and that really changed things. In terms of being part of the community, the first memory I have is Jermane Mayberry’s eyemobile for kids. That started in 1996. Now the Eagles do all kinds of charity events. Players do charitable things on their own. Some of this is for PR, but I think a lot of it is genuine. Become part of the community and help those around you. Take advantage of your time in the limelight. It is easy to be an Eagles fan with what you see, on and off the field. Just look around the rest of the sports world and you see some less than stellar organizations. This time of the year, it’s all about the Brain Game - PE.comIn Year 2, Goedert is in a different place, with a different role. “I’m so much more comfortable, it isn’t even close,” Goedert said. “This time of the year, you’re in the playbook, you’re in the classroom. You have to get it down there first before you take it to the field. I think I’m faster in the offense because I know what I’m doing now. I have a good feel for what I’m supposed to be doing and that makes a huge difference.”Eagles fans show Carson Wentz at annual charity softball game they’re 100 percent behind QB despite injuries - CBS SportsAnd http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-carson-wentz-jersey , boy, do they trust. Asked if Wentz is the right guy to lead the Eagles back to the Super Bowl, Rachel Englehardt, of Horsham, replied without hesitation: “I know he is.” At least half a dozen others gave the exact same answer: “One hundred percent.”Ranking the 25 biggest position upgrades of the 2019 NFL offseason - ESPN In$ider23. Philadelphia Eagles, WRDeSean Jackson replaces Jordan Matthews. Matthews’ 2018 stat line: 20 receptions, 300 yards, 2 TD. Jackson’s 2019 projection: 45 receptions, 765 yards, 5 TD. Whether they’ve tried Nelson Agholor, Torrey Smith or Mike Wallace, the Eagles have struggled to add a vertical element to the offense since Doug Pederson was hired in 2016. During the three seasons, they’ve completed a pedestrian 76-of-221 targets 20-plus yards down field (34.4 percent) for 2,768 yards and 12.5 yards per target. They looked to rectify that by trading for old friend Jackson, who returns to the team that drafted him Womens Isaac Seumalo Jersey , following five seasons away. Jackson’s 10.8 yards per target was sixth highest in the NFL last season, and his career 10.0 YPT tops the league since he was drafted in 2008. The 32-year-old will be a force as a lid lifter in 2019, as will 2019 draft pick JJ Arcega-Whiteside.NFL Insiders Pick 2019 Rookie of the Year Candidates - B/RMiles Sanders, RB, Philadelphia Eagles. The Philadelphia Eagles have a talented and loaded depth chart at running back, which is the only reason why Miles Sanders wasn’t ranked higher. Sanders has the talent and is a perfect fit in Doug Pederson’s offense; it’s just a matter of breaking out of the pack to get the touches needed to produce.Which NFL Teams Will Have the Biggest Contracts Due? - MMQB5. Eagles/Jaguars: Both of these teams have either been able to build their roster thanks to a team-friendly rookie quarterback deal, or have recently seen the downside of what happens when that quarterback doesn’t pan out. Philadelphia’s brilliant run in free agency, trades and the draft will come to head with the looming decision on Carson Wentz’s rookie deal after this season (it expires after 2020). Meanwhile, the Jaguars are doing all they can to keep a star-studded supporting cast alive long enough for Nick Foles to take them to the playoffs. Sooner or later, Jalen Ramsey is going to want (and deserve) an awful lot of money.Vinny Curry back with Eagles to chase that Super Bowl feeling - NBCSPFor whatever reason, Jim Schwartz didn’t want to mention the name of the game, so we’ll try to honor his request. On Tuesday, Schwartz was talking about the new additions to the Eagles’ defense and the first person he named was Vinny Curry, who played his first six years in Philadelphia before joining the Buccaneers for one season. After getting cut by Tampa Bay, he’s back with the Eagles on a one-year deal. “He really looks like he hasn’t missed a beat from where he was when he last played a game for us Chuck Bednarik Jersey ,” Schwartz said, “which was in Minnesota.” You probably remember the game in Minnesota. It was the last game of the 2017 season but was played on Feb. 4, 2018; ringing any bells?Like he had in the 18 games prior, Curry started this one too. He played 44 snaps (58 percent) and had four tackles. The Eagles won. They got a trophy. “I’m trying to really, really take it to the next level,” Curry said this week. “To feel that feeling again, I’ll do anything in the world for it. I’m just working.Redskins not expected to release Josh Norman for salary cap relief - Hogs HavenThere has been a lot of speculation about Josh Norman’s future with the Washington Redskins. He was a surprise signing after the Carolina Panthers rescinded the franchise tag in 2016, and the Redskins made the former All Pro the highest-paid CB in the NFL. Norman has been Washington’s top corner the last few years, but he hasn’t been a superstar. quarterback Nick Foles when NFL free agency opens on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET Womens D.J. Hayden Jersey , according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The Jaguars..." Nick Foles to sign with Jaguars, per reportsNew,496commentsEDTThe Jacksonville Jaguars will agree to terms to sign free agent quarterback Nick Foles when NFL free agency opens on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The Jaguars had been the leaders in the clubhouse for Foles for most of this offseason and some would say really the only one in the clubhouse for the former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and Super Bowl MVP.As expected, the Jaguars will be bringing in the veteran quarterback to replace Blake Bortles. I’d anticipate the Jaguars release Bortles shortly after the Foles deal becomes official, as the team prepares to move forward with the former Eagles quarterback at the helm with his former quarterbacks coach and now current Jaguars offensive coordinator John DeFilippo.Foles was originally a third round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2012 NFL Draft. He started a handful of games as a rookie and looked as you’d expect a third round rookie quarterback to look like. In his next season he came in as the backup and had an incredible season with Chip Kelly, making the Pro Bowl throwing 27 touchdowns with only two interceptions an 8-2 record as a starter. Foles entered the 2014 season as the starter, but despite going 6-2 he had a rough start to the season with 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions before ending the season with a broken collerbone and on injured reserve.Foles was traded to the then St. Louis Rams and was absolutely dreadful in his 11 starts Cody Kessler Jersey , picking up a 4-7 record and throwing more interceptions than touchdowns. In fairness, this was when Jeff Fisher was the head coach of the Rams and he’d been a quarterback killer for a few seasons by then and Foles was the next victim. After a backup stint with the Kansas City Chiefs, Foles followed newly hired head coach Doug Pederson back to the Philadelphia Eagles to backup Carson Wentz. Foles came in at the end of the season when Wentz got hurt and helped pilot the team to a 2-1 finish and then exploded in the playoffs ultimately to a Super Bowl victory and earning the MVP of the game.Last season Foles came in again for an injured Carson Wentz to start the season and it appeared the magic might have been gone, limping to a 1-1 start. Wentz went down again late in the year and Foles gave the Eagles season a spark winning the last three games to send the team to the playoffs. The Foles magic looked back in the Wild Card round as the Eagles drove down late to score and had a nice double-doink field goal miss to hold on. The next week against the Saints however, it was tough sledding and the Eagles got bounced. The Jaguars are signing Foles to lead the way since they still feel they have a good team that can make the playoffs and the 2018 season was just a result of Blake Bortles turning back into Blake Bortles and the team being ravaged by injuries. The hope will be that Foles is that calming force who is going to keep you in games and even drive down the field late and win a few for you. Outside of his size, there has been a question of his commitment to football, or if he still has professional baseball aspirations. On Monday, Murray released a statement hoping to squash some of that belief.Personally, I do not think Murray is going to be on the Jacksonville Jaguars radar, but his announcement that he is fully committed to football does nothing but help them. I’m a fan of Murray and I think his NFL prospects are good, but with his size more-so than his height I have a hard time seeing Tom Coughlin commit the future to a 5-foot-10, 180-pound quarterback.Nonetheless Chris Conley Jersey , Murray’s statement can go a long way in helping the Jaguars if they are targeting a quarterback in the top of the 2019 NFL Draft. For one, I doubt Murray makes this statement unless he’s heard from some teams that he’s going to be a Top 15 pick. That’s where the money eclipses what he was going to make with his first baseball contract and really the only thing that I would think would force such a strong statement from the Murray camp.It adds another quarterback into the mix which could help push someone like Dwayne Haskins, who the Jaguars do absolutely like, down the board or make a trade up less costly than it would have been before.Like I said, I do not think the Jaguars will be in the Murray sweepstakes, but more quarterbacks in the draft can only help the Jaguars.

their linebacker group with Christian Jones and Devon Kennard Sam Acho Jersey , and their offensive line with Kenny Wiggins.Detroit signed the trio of unrestricted free agents on Thursday.Jones and Kennard were starters for the Chicago Bears and New York Giants, respectively, in parts of four seasons. Jones had a career-high 84 tackles last season in Chicago and matched career highs with two sacks, a forced fumble and a recovered fumble. Kennard had four sacks last season with the Giants and 9sacks in his career.Wiggins started every game at guard for the Chargers last season, helping them give up an NFL-low 18 sacks and lead the league in yards passing. He has started 25 of 45 games in his career with the Chargers and San Francisco. The Lions made a major move on the first day of free agency, releasing tight end Eric Ebron. The 2014 first-round pick would have earned $8.25 million this season if he was on the roster past 4 p.m. Wednesday.— There’s no word on just how imminent that new deal might be."We don’t know how close Julio Jones’ camp and the Atlanta Falcons are to figuring out a new deal. Mike Freeman at Bleacher Report had reported that the team and #11 were close, but beyond that we’ve gotten no indication either way.Fortunately for us and all parties involved http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-devin-hester-jersey , Julio Jones does not appear to be in a hurry. Here’s the latest from Vaughn McClure at ESPN, who captures Jones appearing completely unbothered by the current pace. We heard some reassuring words early in last offseason, too, mixed in with the occasional worrying report. Ultimately, the team sort of addressed the contract and promised to do the heavy lifting this offseason, and for all the panic about Julio missing offseason work with the team, he put together one of the best seasons of his career for the Falcons Womens Danny Trevathan Jersey , complete with eight touchdowns. I’m hoping the two sides will have this thing buttoned up sooner than later for everyone’s peace of mind, but it’s a very good sign that Julio is not (and almost as a rule, does not) publicly putting additional pressure on a franchise with a lot of big contracts to negotiate now and in the immediate future. Oh, and he will probably miss some offseason work (not the mandatory stuff), so maybe get ready for that now.As a fan of the Atlanta Falcons and of great football players in general, I’ve learned to hold two thoughts in my head at once. The first is that Antonio Brown was right to pursue a better opportunity and try to earn more money with a team that would genuinely appreciate him, and the second is that I’m damn glad that Julio Jones hasn’t done the same and appears to have no interest in doing so Cody Whitehair Jersey , given how messy that exit would be and how important he is to the offense. There just aren’t a lot of players like Julio out there, and in the constant churn of transactions and justified frustration with this team’s fortunes, it’s easy to lose sight of how fortunate this team is to have him.Now we just wait to see what this new megadeal looks like, and what kind of seasons are ahead for Julio in his age-30 year and beyond.

COSTA MESA Rayshawn Jenkins Jersey , Calif. (AP) — during the first half of the season that they have plenty of weapons on offense. One who has emerged is Tyrell Williams, who has become a deep threat during the past month.Going into Sunday’s game at Oakland, the fourth-year wide receiver has four touchdowns and is averaging 28.8 yards per catch over the past three games.“He’s become a complete receiver. His receiving skills, he’s just taken them to another level,” Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said. With Keenan Allen still drawing double teams, Williams continues to benefit from single coverage. Five of his receptions during the past three games have gone for 20 yards or more, including a 75-yarder against Tennessee on Oct. 21. He is tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns (five), second in yardage (451) and third in receptions (22) during the first half of the season.“I think it’s really just been seeing what the defense does, when to take shots, being able to get over the top and trusting my ability to go up and get the ball or run past the defense,” said Williams, whose 20.5 yards per reception average is third in the league.Philip Rivers also hasn’t been afraid to go to Williams on consecutive plays if the matchup is favorable. Williams caught both passes on a two-play, 89-yard drive midway through the second quarter of the Oct. 14 game at Cleveland http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-justin-jones-jersey , including a 45-yard touchdown where he got leverage over cornerback Damarious Randall. While Williams has made his biggest impact on downfield plays, he has also shown his improvement in other areas. Late in the first quarter of last Sunday’s game at Seattle, Williams made a diving grab on a back shoulder fade for a 14-yard touchdown while being covered by Tre Flowers.Williams said catching back shoulder passes and route running were two things that he placed added emphasis on improving this past offseason.“My first few years, I was always just looking to get the ball down the field. I wasn’t really prepared for back-shoulders,” he said. “It was kind of a timing thing and getting used to that, but now I’ve kind of figured out how to be running fast but still be prepared for that back-shoulder stuff.”Los Angeles (6-2) has won five straight for the first time since 2014 and will face a Raiders defense that is 24th against the pass. Williams had three receptions for 66 yards in the first meeting on Oct. 14, which the Chargers won 26-10. One of the catches was for 48 yards.“Hopefully that stays the same and they don’t switch it up. It’s nice to get single coverage and Keenan still being able to go for 100 like he did, to be firing on all cylinders,” he said.Notes: Defensive end Joey Bosa did not do any team drills, meaning he’s unlikely to play in his first game of the season this week. … Lynn has left open the possibility that LB Kyzir White could return later in the season. White was placed on injured reserve Saturday due to a knee injury. For the first time in almost two months, the team, and its’ fan base, did not get to celebrate victory Monday following their 23-22 loss to the Denver Broncos. In a game that looked to be a hot mess from the very beginning Womens Kyzir White Jersey , the Chargers floundered their way to their worst performance of the season as they seemed to do everything in their power to avoid leaving StubHub Center with a win on Sunday afternoon. The Chargers were far away better than the Broncos in several key stats, including time of possession, total plays, and total yards. However, the Broncos did essentially everything they needed to, when they needed to, to come out on top.For the first time since week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Bolts failed to record a sack. To add some insult to injury, the defense also failed to log a single tackle-for-loss or turnover. Alas, the Chargers continue their streak of being unbeaten when they give up one or zero turnovers. On an individual level, the players also produced their worst graded game of the season, according to Pro Football Focus. You also know it was quite an anomaly when guys like Old Man Gates and Michael Davis are the highest-graded players on the entire team.(extremely deep and long exhale)It was a very forgettable performance by a team looking to stay hot until the toughest part of their schedule arrived. I just hope the team embraces that massive kick to the groin and understands going forward that, however they prepared for the Broncos Virgil Green Jersey , is not going to cut it going forward. Here’s to the final six weeks of the season and what could amount to a make-or-break stretch for Anthony Lynn and Co.SurgeTE Antonio GatesI don’t know about the rest of you, but Sunday’s performance by Gates was magical in the same way a unicorn is, but maybe like an older, less agile unicorn.Gates actually played a major role in keeping the Bolts alive while the rest of the team racked up penalty after penalty. Most of his 80 receiving yards came on money downs when the team needed a big play the most. His 6-yard score was the second of the season and almost helped put the Broncos away as the score was 19-7 in middle of the third quarter. His five catches and 80 yards receiving were both season-highs while his score was his first since week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers.It’s always a great sight to see Gates has still got it, especially in crucial moments in important games. If anything, this performance helps the Chargers as its proof that #85 still deserves a good amount of attention when he is on the field.RB Melvin GordonGordon makes yet another appearance on the Surge list as he continues to be a bright spot in each and every game this season. Gordon has developed and progressed in each season since his lousy rookie campaign but this year might be his biggest step of them all.Where Gordon has improved the most is his ability to stuff the staff sheet regardless if opposing teams sell out of stop him on the ground. In week two against the Bills Gordon recorded season-lows in carries and rushing yards with nine carries for 28 yards. However, he still caught six passed for another 38 yards to go along with three total touchdowns on the day (1 rushing, 2 receiving). In week 5 during their first contest against the Oakland Raiders, Gordon rushed for just 58 yards on 19 carries but caught another four passed for 62 yards. It just doesn’t matter what you try to take away, Gordon has found a way to break through and that’s the biggest reason why Gordon is finally able to have a case for being one of the top running backs in the league.Against the Broncos, Gordon had 69 yards rushing on just 18 carries. But just like he has all season, he made up for the lack of rushing through the air by catching six passes for 87 yards which wound up being good for second on the team in receiving yards in that contest.StaticS Jahleel AddaeI’m not sure what to say about Addae at this point that hasn’t already said dozens of times by me or the rest of the Bolts From The Blue staff. On Sunday afternoon, if there was a big play broken off by the Broncos http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-mike-pouncey-jersey , Addae was sure to be seen in the vicinity, usually lying on the ground after whiffing on the tackle or running five yards behind as he struggled to keep up with any of the Broncos’ skill players.Luckily, the Broncos were forced to punt several plays later, but one of the most boneheaded plays made by Addae was the holding call on WR Emmanuel Sandersthat erased a momentum-shifting interception by S Adrian Phillips.Following the interception by OLB Von Miller, Addae looked allergic to contact as he consistently stay back away from the action in obvious run situations. Even when his starting position was in his own end zone, he waited and waited on his reads and kept himself out of any chance of helping in run support. It’s just so apparent that he does not belong on the field and I’m not sure how long Coach Lynn can save him from his inevitable benching.QB Philip RiversOver the last several weeks, Rivers’ play has been on a decline. It hasn’t been dramatic, but steady nonetheless. For the first time this season, Rivers threw multiple interceptions in a game. The first of his interceptions was a fairly frustrating play as he seemed to force the ball to WR Tyrell Williams who was matched up with the Broncos’ best CB in Chris Harris Jr. His second interception was more of an incredible play by Miller than a knock on Rivers. With the defender playing well off of Benjamin and the defense showing tons of pressure, getting it out to Travis as quick as possible was the right call. But there’s a reason Miller is a generational talent. This just goes to show how much pressure from the edge can really mess things up and take Rivers out of his zone. This offensive line is still better than the 2015 and ‘16 lines butthere still appears to be ghosts haunting #17 years later.
